This is my take on Kasendrith’s Praxis Storm deck ( https://eternalwarcry.com/decks/d/VdHbHMyQiAc/praxis-storm ), taking the
Rebuild storm archetype and pairing it with the
Glimpse the Possibilities and
Workshop Forge engine / combo.
So far it has been a ton of fun to play but I still have a lot more testing and exploration to do, so any thoughts and feedback would be appreciated!
The core idea here is to build up a ton of fire influence and use
Rebuild to generate a ton of power to end the game with either
Flame Blast or
Kairos, Grand Champion.
Glimpse the Possibilities with a
Workshop Forge online basically makes your entire deck your hand, so you can easily go off dropping units into Kairos or chaining Rebuilds into a massive Flame Blast.
The relic package is primarily to add more value to
Calibrate which is one of our better “tutors” - helps find Workshop and also power.
Arcanum Hourglass and
The End is Near is a nice combo to thin your deck so you don’t get stuck on power while trying to go off with Glimpse and also can help you build your power over time, as this deck tends to Glimpse a few times before going off and ending the game.
Amber Lock is a great role player in the deck - it’s a live, cheap hit off Calibrate to help draw you into more action, and it can reset the top of your deck when you are going off with Glimpse (incredibly important / powerful when the top card is a non-warp destiny Rebuild).
Praxis Stranger is here just to help with influence, same with
Grand Builder although the life gain can be really helpful at times.
Outside of the power base, biggest question marks are probably
Initiate of the Sands and
Kairos' Choice. I do think we need the 1-drop accelerant but have tried with
Power Stone and can test more iterations. Choice is just fast, cheap removal and can also reset a Smuggler. I have tried with
Torch and
Searing Strike but we have access to shadow so hard removal or a sweeper like
Saloon Massacre might just be better.
Still trying out different iterations of the market, I might try a sweeper in there although most of the time I just want to grab one of my finishers.
Power base still needs work as well.
Appreciate the look!
Also, your three smugglers are your *only* win conditions; you can’t access any of your tools for winning if they’re discarded or silenced. Main deck kill, or backup market access, seems like a must.
I actually made the change to Pyrotechnic but need to update the deck because you’re right, it’s just a straight up upgrade to Blast.
To your second point, I pretty much only use this deck in gauntlet so I haven’t really had to worry about my smugglers getting discarded or silenced as most of the decks in gauntlet don’t run those effects (as far as I can tell). Do you have any suggestions on changing? The issue is that I don’t want to be stuck with win conditions when I need more action to build up the combo. I am thinking about adding coveted gemstones to the main deck and then adding the attachment that has the detonate amplify trigger? The gemstones help w/ building up power and then can be used later for grabbing a win con. What do you think?
Thanks again and appreciate the note.
