A very solid FJP deck that carried me to a 31-9 record, peaking around #12 on the leaderboards. Would have loved to crack top 10, but I really can't complain.
Started out week 1 with a disappointing 5-5 record with a FJS build. Ended up skipping out on week 2, but week 3 brought me a
Winchest Cargo that made me feel confident enough in my power base to continue. Was massively rewarded with a 19 win streak that week, losing my 20th game to a nut
Lynax, Moltenwing draw from my opponent. Finished out week 4 with a respectable 7-3 record.
There are some decks I've played that have taken advantage of synergies and cool interactions, but this deck was mostly based around pure card quality - a solid curve of good units backed up by some premium combat tricks in
Mighty Strikes and
Barrel Through, plus a few relic weapons and a little spot removal.
....also,
Lord Steyer's Tower is a broken card, especially when you play it out on-curve. I didn't have many valkyries, which meant I only ever warped it once... but it's very capable of winning a game by itself if your opponent can't pressure it. One memorable game involved my opponent also playing out their own Tower, and ultimately losing the game because they were on the draw and got less value from theirs before I killed it.
That said, there were a few nice synergies in the deck -
Oni Hybrid + relic weapons (especially
Gravity Glove) and
Maveloft Elite /
Roving Workshop + amplify cards (including
Curfew Enforcement off Tower) were both nice when they came up.
The market was by far the weakest part of the deck - in hindsight, I should have been running an
Oni Striker or
Valkyrie Emulator there over
Tools of Oppression, which I never fetched.
Scythe Slash and Malaga Munitions both felt good though. I would have also liked a little more premium removal for big units, but relic weapons, combat tricks, and decay units were usually enough to get there.
