Original list by ghorkov:
Profane Hour.
This is my current iteration (reached master with its revision 2 version, doing even better since). Sideboard is a mess of cards I tried or want to try. If you don't have all the cards, you can find some ideas for replacement in there.
Deck centered around
Profane Nexus and
The Witching Hour. Both cards benefit from spamming fodders. Very heavy on Shadow influence with at most one Fire and Time. The deck draw engine can easily go out of hand (literally) once
Tasbu, the Forbidden hits the board. As it's often the case no matter the decks, close games are mostly decided on knowing when to go all out and when to keep some gas available.
Don't be too greedy with your starting hand. You can't expect to have all influences, some units and fixers every time. If you miss one of those it's still fine. Especially if you have either a merchant, some draw (and its requirements) and/or 2+ crests (scouting). It might not look like it but the deck is actually quite reliable (performs decently in gauntlet).
Annoying cards to face:
Facing
Tocas, Waystone Harvester is tough (unless its witching o'clock), not much you can do but fetch
Madness from the market. If you keep facing him, you can try and make room for some
Banish (also deals with
Avigraft) and/or main deck
Madness.
Turn 4
Royal Decree (from market) can also be a pain, it's often worth to remove the merchant turn 3 if you can (to avoid
onslaught or delay it). On the bright side, it doesn't affect the cards in your own market and void,
Excavate can let you fetch one of them back again.
Waylay is not much of an issue to play against (but for your
Ephemeral Wisp). If it ever bothers you though, or if you are having troubles versus void centered decks, you can play your own
Waylay. Counters itself, trivializes some match ups, helps with
Torrent of Spiders.
Comments on edits (most recent first):
Revision 6: Not updated the list yet, but I start to lean toward lowering
Combust and maybe
Cull the Deck amounts for
Vara's Choice. It feels like a very good tech versus
Kairos, Grand Champion (and his good friend
Tocas, Waystone Harvester). It especially makes sense in this list with lots of fodders (silence is often enough) and for its 2 power cost (
Banish would fit too, but the 3 power slot is already crowded).
Revisions 4 & 5:
Some tweaks, mostly got rid of Scavenge (I really tried) in favor of Cull the Deck. Better curve but means 1) the deck loses some Fire fixing, market and power-base were impacted to stay as reliable as possible; 2) less units to spam, included back 2x Ephemeral Wisp to make up for this.
Revision 3:
Exit Stonescar Scrapper, after this much time spent together I don't feel you have it in you anymore. Loving my first few tests with 2 Excavate instead.
I also didn't like having no token producer in the Market; sometimes you already have your Nexus and just need fuel, and none is available. I tried a Nahid's Choice there but ended up on Scraptank instead; he's basically expensive Assembly Line with upside that can be pulled by shadow Merchant. I ended up pulling the yellow banner and tilting the maindeck power toward yellow a bit to account for it.
