Information

I went 20-8 with this list in the ECQ qualifier, and made it to top 8 in day 2, wanted to share it

The combo is Talir, Who Sees Beyond + merchant or (Last Chance a merchant) to draw Kairos, Grand Champion with destiny.

Display of Destruction and End of the Barrel give you temporary power to combo sooner. The fastest combo is Auralian Merchant on turn 3, Display of Destruction + Talir + Last Chance on turn 4

The combo generally gives you card and board advantage, which is usually good enough in my experience. If the opponent plays Harsh Rule you have a hand full of cards, including Dark Return with which to rebuild.

Kindling Carver, Devour, Temple Scribe, and expendable units allow you to draw cards while you stall.

If you don't own End of the Barrel, the deck will still work with any other card, like Twinbrood Sauropod, Suffocate, or Azindel, Revealed

Absolutely love this decklist! Most fun I’ve had in eternal so far. Any thoughts on what I can replace Kato with while i get enough shiftstone to craft him? I’ve been using baby vara for shutting down aegis before comboing but are there any other good choices?
Almost Edited Eternal Version: 1.50.9
Kato is pretty unique as it can be sacrificed 3 times, is a cultist for Ark of Sol, and makes giants in long games.
Entranced Cultist Two-Face and Nahid's Choice would be similar as cultists that can be sacrificed twice

Hey I've been enjoying this deck for a few days, it's great, although I'm still struggling with some matches like Xenan Strangers and Yetis. Any tips? Thanks!
Almost Eternal Version: 1.50.8
For Xenan, the main things that have given me issue are Tocas and Xenan Temple.
If they just play a bunch of midrange cards I can generally combo before they kill me.
Vs temple you can try to get a merchant (or other time unit) into your void before they play the temple. You can also try to kill the temple with ambush or charge smugglers, or just hope that they don't have a temple.
Display's damage mode can be used to try to finish off a Tocas if it blocks some expendable unit.

I haven't been running into Yetis much. Killing Wump and the Site is a pretty high priority. Sometimes they will just have a fast draw that you can't beat. Sometimes you can get a fast combo of your own, taking a bunch of damage in order to have a unit alive for Display + Last Chance.

This deck is great. I used from diamond 2 to master with 5 losses. I only change 3 chant for 3 amber acolyte and 1 end of barrel for 1 more twinbrood. Get master with 5 min left to the start of month is great.

Congrats on your success! I'm playing the same list, but i prefer make kairos damage with ixtol, champion of grodov in the market... many time, when you draw after kairos, you play a destiny merchant....and then chose ixtol with kairos power buff.

I'd like to suggest including Eremot's design maybe in the place of the sauropods. I've had a lot of success with it since we have hugely impactful 1 2 and 3 drops in the deck with Carver Kato and any merchant making it really easy to get back on the board or just add to an already good board. Thanks for the brew.
Almost Edited Eternal Version: 1.50.8
Eremot's Design is a decent way to deal with aggressive matchups, though I've generally found that I've been able to stall by blocking with grenadin and kato / totemite for long enough to assemble the combo.

I'm not sure that Twinbrood would be the card to cut though - maybe End of the Barrel or Temple Scribe. Twinbrood works well as market fodder and makes the combo turn more lethal when you pull it out of the market. I'll often want to kill some flying units on the turn that I combo, and Twinbrood has the attack to do so.

Edit: Oh, you mean Eremot's Machinations. Yea that card has the potential to do some cool things, I'll have to try it some time.

I started playing just before FoX released, and was stingy with my shiftstone up until now that I crafted this deck. So worth it, I'm having a blast! (even if I'm still not very consistent with it)
By the way, do you have some other suggestions for combo decks in this meta?
Congrats on the top 8, and thanks for this brew :D

I'm always so excited when you make a new deck. Playing with your previous westwind herald concoctions was some of the most fun I've had in this game, and I can't wait to try out this one. Congrats on your success, your ecq showing was amazing! Can't wait to see what you put out next!

Thanks for the kind words!
I've had a bunch of fun and success with this deck so far, hope you enjoy it too :)
Darkshade Eternal Version: 1.50.6
I just saw you play this deck in the top 8 match against Aranq13 and it was probably 1 of the most epic games i've seen in a long time. Really nice deck you have build here, I really hoped you would make it to the finals but top 8 is still a great achievement, Nice work !!!
Almost Eternal Version: 1.50.6
Thanks - that game was pretty intense, pretty cool that it was shown on stream.
I'm pretty happy to have made top 8 - though perhaps next time I can make it to the finals :D
