The perfect tool in this deck is a combination of
Grodov's Burden and
Kodosh's Armor. When these two bad boys work together, your deck becomes a perpetual motion machine. But why stop with one tool? Let's go all out with this theme and build a
Kaspar, Oren of Kosul deck loaded with spellcraft payoffs.
Larai, the Appraiser will tutor up relics, letting you keep only one copy of
Grodov's Burden in the main, and
Kodosh's Armor is tucked in the market. Larai also prevents your opponent from attacking with relic weapons or activating their own relics. The real beauty of this deck is getting multiple activations off of
Crystalline Chalice and
Grodov's Burden with Kaspar on the field. But getting multiples from your other relics, say
Sorcerer's Wand or
Golem Press can buy you precious time, and
Kodosh's Armor can be huge.
Spellcrafting is in the front seat of this deck, and there's a ton of synergy.
Kaspar, Oren of Kosul doubles up your first spellcraft or activation of a relic, and
Shardbinder makes the first spellcraft or activation 3 mana cheaper. On top of that,
Horde Plunderer will make all spellcrafting free.
As for the market, we've got
Hailstorm as a cheap board clear. If you've dipped into the market enough to also grab
Authoritarian Creation, it could be a one-sided wipe. The rest of the spots, minus
Kodosh's Armor, are fluid and can be replaced to suit your own tastes.
