I really like
Tome of Horrors but find his activation cost (4) a liability. It works really well in late game and in mill decks, but is not really a contender against any aggro or even against midrange.
To solve that we need to lower its activation cost, and that is where
Severin, the Mad Mage plays a huge role. I came here to look if anyone posted a deck with this two cards and found no results, so here is my take on it.
This is a relics based deck, still not polished, but with a lot of potential. I am sure there is room for improvement so any feedback is welcome.
Another highlight is the
Eye of Winter that got buffed after the last patch, I am testing it together with
Icebreaker which was a popular combo years ago. Is a weak 3-drop but I find him necessary to keep control over an opponent playing units every turn. In the other hand,
Tumbling Sloth may be an excellent replacement for him, I am going to try it and update if necessary, as Sloth will be great against armory decks and charge units.
I am aware that there are other cards that have been the gold standard for Relics based decks, like the always present
Lethrai Courtier +
Rat Cage combo or
Seasoned Spelunker, I may go into that direction but for now I am trying to build something different.
I did not really put a lot of thought in the market, if you are going to try this deck I advice you to tweak it to your liking first. I will probably change
Quicksilver Mirror to something else like
Sodi's Spellshaper. The only card that is a must here is
Perilous Research.
Again, your feedback is welcome!
I would remove Honeypot, Wilderness Refuge, Seek Power and Find the Way (as Auralian Cargo and Lethrai Courtier should be sufficient).
