A combo deck that is similar to Charge Rod, however instead of using
Divining Rod on units with charge/flying, we use
Divining Rod on units with revenge.
From initial play testing, this deck appears to fluff less often/be more consistant then Charge Rod, and this is for many reasons. It actually feels like a hybrid of the old pre pathfinder nerf Echo Makto Decks + Charge Rod.
- Much more resilient to removal, we can even use
Harsh Rule offensively since all of our units have revenge. Its also how we can reliably trigger the tribute for
End of the Story since our units have revenge.
- Early game with
Stonepowder Alchemist/
Piercing Grief, the consistent lifesteal does wonders in surviving early game
- Access to much better removal, i.e.
Slay/
Banish plus
Xenan Initiation
The downside is that the deck feels less combo'ey, i.e. our potential for getting something ridiculous like 4 units onboard with 10+ health/damage is a lot lower
Notable Cards
Divining Rod - Nuff said
Alhed, Mount Breaker - This card is fantastic in this deck, although usually a heavyweight in time, in this deck
Alhed, Mount Breaker inspire is used in conjunction with revenge triggers. Furthermore we can do fun stuff with his ultimate, like put a Destinied unit with killer on the top of the deck for it to come back yet again, stronger plus with an additional card draw
Elias, the Broken Wing - I think the only somewhat viable deck with Elias, he really shines here. He can jump on board much earlier with
Divining Rod and the combination of lifesteal + flying means you win against many racers. If he gets inspired by
Alhed, Mount Breaker, even better.
Xenan Initiation - A must, its our only way to work through Aegis (particularly if they happen to be holding a vanquishers blade), plus the recursion with revenge is insane.
The deck probably requires a little bit more optimization, I would like to somehow fit more
Banish in here, we need them against
Statuary Maiden and the like. Having 2 of
Harsh Rule and 2 of
End of the Story might be better, especially with all of the
Stand Together and
Sword of Unity flying around. Also including more units is an option to increase the odds of
Divining Rod hitting something.
I didn't have Elias so I put a 3/3 Alessi/Crownwatch package after moving stuff around, and they're a natural fit for this deck. A+
