Hi everyone. I don't have any masters clickbait this time around as I haven't been able to play much Eternal lately, but this is personally one of my favorite decks to use since the recent expansion and I thought it would be worth sharing. Part of why I like it is because of its resemblance to another list that I have fond memories of,
FPS Trove. The most powerful card that either of these two decks abuse is called
Krull, Xumuc Occultist, and you can use it to directly play a unit from your void without paying the cost or spending a card from hand, essentially giving you an easy 2-for-1 by doing nothing.
Of course, if you put Krull into your deck normally it means that you can't control when you draw it, causing you to lose very high portions of your life total and, more importantly, forcing you to use the recursion effect the moment you draw your Krull. The way to get around this in the past has been to cast
Know When to Hold 'em targeting Krull with the exact remaining power required to recur the unit you'd like; this way you don't need to cast your effective Krulls as soon as they enter your hand, allowing you to maximize the value of the effect and ensure that there's a unit worth recurring before it activates. When used this way, you're spending 1 power to add a 'blank' card to your hand and draw/play a unit of your choice, which is strong enough to warrant playing decks that utilize cheap units that do a lot for their cost such as
Kindling Carver and
Kato, Arena Herald.
With the recent expansion, however, I think that this is no longer the best way to make use of Krull's fate ability.
Skullmarket Delivery can act similarly to KWTHE by regulating when and for how much the damage proc occurs, but for only 1 additional power we get to immediately cycle the 'blank' we drew before for a real card and notably shuffle it back into the top 5 cards of the deck. This allows us to use Krull's awesome effect a second time, both times generating a cards worth of value without spending much power (or even generating power, by playing a unit without having to pay its cost).
I think the explanations about Krull are by far the most complicated part of this deck to grasp, as the rest is filled mostly with generically good cards like
Open Contract,
Furious Accusation, and
The Creation Project. There are also a lot of sacrifice elements to this deck, as the sacrifice archetype uniquely has very efficient units you can recur
without heavy influence requirements like the ascending cycle. One last thing that I'd like to mention is that the 'token' package in this list (or the cards that generate units worthy of sacrificing) is a bit on the greedier side, and this is because I felt like I could get away with it. If you feel like you need cheaper token units in your games, I would recommend replacing
Display of Destruction with some type of 1 or 2 cost generator such as
Gleaming Grenadin.
If you decide to play this, good luck!
As a side note, don't be afraid to play out Kato early on as a way to create tokens because of her use as a finisher. The deck runs many ways to recur her in Skullmarket Delivery, Kerendon Merchant, and Display of Ambition, as well as a lot of draw to help you find them by the time her ability is active.
I hope this helped!
