Information

Hi,

one of the last, missing factions in my budget deck series was Argenport.
We tackle the Archetype this time around while showcasing how to play the deck, how to stay calm under pressure and boardstalls while playing for your winning draws.

I was trying some weapon-heavy deck with Auric Bully but it felt lackluster at best while playtesting the list.
In the end, we settled for the best of both worlds that Shadow and Justice offer and put in the units that are known putting in the work for the decks they are in.

Possible Upgrades to work towards

Inquisitor Makto offers amazing value with his never ending revenge and always needs to be dealt with, the sooner the better. Definitely worth picking up 4 copies for Argenport decks in the future.

Tavrod, Auric Broker offers you some unique ideas that we can use by following the theme he provides. Using a weapon heavy deck while putting in minotaur tribal cards give Tavrod huge, swingy draws, that can change the game with little as one activation. This card needs to be unlocked by playing through the Horus Travor Campaign. He will most likely stay close to an auto-include in most Argenport decks.

Crownwatch Traitor definitely has his place in argenport decks, decent statline and deadlier than most of his powercurve due to Quickdraw. Has seen more play the last couple of weeks than before.

Bartholo, the Seducer can be a win condition on his own, I remember Paladin Oathbook decklists that were using Bartholo as their finisher / card that has to be dealt with immediately. Can work in a deck like this, but don't go overboard with the theme of unblockable cards, im not sure if the game is slow enough to make this Bartholo Oathbook theme work out in your favour.

Void Drummer could be fun in a janky, less consistent approach to pump up Makto before he gets recycled in your deck. Nothing more, nothing less than a fun card that I felt like mentioning.

Grinva, Judge of Battles sounds like a lot of fun to play in a recurrsion deck that aims to use mCrownwatch Paladinany revenge units and cards like Dark Return to rack passive up damage up on the enemy face. Could be janky, yet again, but its worth mentioning in case you ever open a Grinva. I wouldn't recommend crafting her, since I have no experience with her myself and couldn't tell if its worth it.

Possible Rare cards to upgrade

Lethrai Falchion is amazing as it provides lifesteal and a decent statline, turning your weapon carriers into decent threats, especially if we run units like Crownwatch Paladin

Bloodletter falls into the same category like the falchion, this deck can definitely take those weapons and do well!

Anointer of the Faithful has seen play in interesting paladin tribal decks with a heavy weapon load, worth checking out if you own the campaign to get access to the card!

Crest of Vengeance to offer you scouts early on while building your power pool.

Kerendon Merchant or Winchest Merchant will provide a sideboard like market allowing you to fetch cards directly from there. Huge increase in consistency ! Which one you would end up using depends on your playstyle as both offer different takes on your strategy.

Umbren Reaper has nice reach and lifegain for yourself, needs to be dealt with early on, otherwise it will end the game quickly.

Steward of the Past is an interesting option that shuts down enemy recurrsion with effect shenanigans.

Ashara, Ruthless Assassin and Ashara, the Deadshot both fit the theme of needing an answer immediately or hurting your opponent dramatically very quickly.

Impending Doom offers yet another big body for cheap, interesting choice and pickup! The downside of the one damage shouldn't hurt you too much, especially with many lifesteal weapons and lifesteal recurrsion.

Sheriff Marley always deserves to be mentioned!

Auric Interrogator is amazing in minotaur tribal decks or even as a normal unit in any shadow deck that has place. If you can buff it up to atleast 5 attack you get additional card draw at the end of your turn! Value!

Auric Runehammer has a place in every justice deck, unimpeded attacking to keep the board under control.

Argenport Instigator has an amazing statline for two costs, requires two shadow influence to play. Can sometimes be hard to meet.

Copperhall Paladin is a fun card to play around with, supports the paladin tribal as well as the minotaur tribal and gives you an incentive to put weapons on it.

Crownwatch Press-Gang sees play in nearly every justice deck that opts to run 1 drops, if you do consider taking him into the deck aswell!

Valkyrie Enforcer is in the same place as Sheriff Marley. It fits most decks and has a place in all of them.

Unseen Commando is bonkers and provides evasion, lifesteal and a buff to your other units with 2 or more battle skills, definitely one of the better cards to get your hands on early and sees play in most justice decks that have a unit strategy.

Vanquisher's Blade can provide more pressure while allowing you to basically run Vanquish in your deck aswell. Can also be buffed by warcries from your Crownwatch Paladins!

Paladin Oathbook personally im not a big fan of Oathbook strategies but it has a place in the meta, somewhere, behind closed doors and windows, and can be backbreakingly efficient with the right draws. You can always put it into your deck and see if you like the theme it provides.
