Information

For those that have already off and on followed this deck yes, I wiped and redid the overview here.

The concept here is still pretty straightforward. The only unit in the main deck is Wasteland Broker. I switched WB into the main deck quite a few edits ago to counter Darktalon Wyvarch. This card singlehandedly destroyed previous versions of this build because it was unitless.

The one thing I can’t stress enough is this is control. You don’t efficiently play control by wiping the board every time a unit sticks. You have options upon options for unit removal. You have the 2-cost “soft” wipe Saloon Massacre, which counters quite a lot of unit rush. You have another hard wipe at 4 power Nothing Remains which counters rush builds and anything that recurs units. You still have the classic hard wipes Harsh Rule and Shen-Ra Speaks. Frankly, you have board wipes for days. Still, play smart. Wipe the board when it reaches and uncontrollable state (your life gain can’t keep up and your life total is nearing critical levels, they have a must-be-answered threat, etc.).

Our power draw just got better with the release of Unleashed. Diamond of the Valley both serves as draw progression AND accelerates our power base and IF they kill it, free 7 life. It’s honestly lovely. DotV is another Dichro's Ruin trigger and in combination with Arcane Restraint and Meditative Trance, also a Mask of Torment trigger. Jury is still out with swapping 1 or more Pinnacle of the Reach for more Diamond of the Valley so if you guys try it before I do let me know how it goes.

So on to the bigger changes. Reset the Day made it permanently into the market. Having more 7-draws is just too good to pass up. I kept Lumen Reclaimer and Passage of Eons because 1: games might go longer than anticipated and we NEED our board wipes and 2: PoE is vital against any kind of mirror-match relic-draw-gain-life-kill build. Apologies I know I said changes plural, but that was the only real major change.

As a random sidenote I’ve considered Display of Realities against mirror-matches and Display of Survival against relic hate, and I very nearly included the second one in this update (would be swapped for Incineration from market, or for a board wipe in main deck. If swapped for a board wipe, the board wipe would replace Incineration. I know it’s a really fun way to win, but winning would still be important). It remains to be seen if all of the added relic hate from Unleashed will see ranked play though, and I didn’t want to nerf the build’s overall power for a hunch.

As always down here (: thank every single one of you for playing my deck. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and I’m sincerely looking forward to hearing from all of you in our new meta again! You’re all awesome and your comments/feedback is much appreciated! Enjoy!

ElderGnome Eternal Version: 21.09.23
Just dealt 520 damage with Incineration to *ahem* win the game. Wild and crazy deck :)
Vision Eternal Version: 22.03.04
Sorry I missed this 7 months ago. Wow time flies. I’ll post another update in the next week or so. Sometimes remembering to update builds gets lost somewhere. I’m glad you enjoy playing it!
ElderGnome Eternal Version: 22.05.11
;) glad u made it back :)
Vision Eternal Version: 22.05.13
Thanks! The build was sadly pretty far out of date. I’d made several minor changes to what I played competitively and forgot to add them here. Unleashed I feel is going to alter how this deck interacts with meta play, so I’m pretty excited for it.
ElderGnome Eternal Version: 22.05.18
I look forward to checking out the new build. Cheers!
ACYD Edited Eternal Version: 21.07.21
Have you tried Battle at the Gates
Seems to be limited ways to deal with Darktalon Wyvarch which can be a definite turn 4 game ender if they run it. Or would Pyrotech Explosion be a better fit? Or is it just that it's such a random card that hardly sees play, that it would make more sense to scoop and move on when it shows early on? I have thought about Waylay as well
Vision Eternal Version: 21.07.21
First thank you for that. Fresh eyes are amazing. I included your comment in with my last edit and just posted an update. I don’t like playing 4 of anything just to counter Wyvarch, but 2x Battle and putting Broker into the main deck might solve it. I hate playing units lol but at least this way it’s a toolbox unit that can make theoretically infinite units with the mandrake in the market as well as Lumen Reclaimer. I’d be happy to hear more of your thoughts!
ACYD Eternal Version: 21.09.02
Sorry for the long wait on the reply. I really like battle at the gates. Have you moved on from this deck or are you still modifying it?
Vision Edited Eternal Version: 21.09.02
I still play it pretty consistently, and I should probably post another update soon. My only real issue so far with BATG is that you have to hold for it— so you have to either miss other cards to play it or make sure you save 3 power. Sometimes it ends up being needed that turn earlier and there’s no real helping it. But holding for it can just as often be a mistake. Idk. Still mildly on the fence where it’s concerned. I feel like moving to a true 3-cost soft wipe and leaving the 4x Broker as Wyvarch’s counter might be enough. Between Broker and Lumen Reclaimer, the necessity of BATG might be passed.

I played a few games with this version slightly modified. I removed from the market worldpyre(you always have the power to play cards from mask of torment) and replaced it with arcane restraint makes wonders against control decks. I never used replication cell in all my games I am thinking to replace it with something else maybe hatecleaver with all the 1 lifegain it will be huge and another game winning method. Also Incineration is fantastic you can finish the game with huge damage to face. In one game my opponent had 200+ life from overwhelm units and Shepard's horn relic and I finished him with Incineration.
Vision Eternal Version: 22.05.13
I love it! I did end up also playing Arcane Restraint in the market and made (albeit over time) quite a few changes to my version of this deck, and possibly will be continuing to make changes as meta catches up to the Unleashed release. Hopefully my current build helps again!
rav3nasd Eternal Version: 21.06.09
Hatecleaver with all that lifegain should be better than Auricrunehammer.
Vision Eternal Version: 21.06.09
Thank you a lot for that suggestion! I’ve presently reworked without relic weapons, but if I do slot one your idea is an excellent rework concept over Auric Runehammer and I really appreciate it!
RANBY Eternal Version: 21.06.09
Have you considered Mask of Torment? I am playing a different version of this and increasing maximum power for every life gain is just so amazing in this deck. Being able to dump all cards in hand then reset with Wrath of Caiphus for another dump the following turn feels so good. Probably as a market slot?
Vision Eternal Version: 21.06.09
I played both as market and as main and I’m actually changing the build list now lol. Hopefully the reasons will seem obvious
arcade Eternal Version: 21.06.09
I think manacles is too expensive for what it does. I’d rather swap those for transposes and put one in market if you really want it.

I also wonder if running beacons are better than baubles here.
Vision Eternal Version: 21.06.09
First thanks so much for your suggestion. I really appreciate it. I actually went Calibrate for Manacles (moved to market) and Glimpse Another Age for Bauble here. By beacons, I’m assuming Beacon of the Reach? If so in honesty, it feels a lot more clunky to draw random cards versus cards you know you need. Sure is sweet when it creates damage spells or board wipes, but all of the units..? I don’t feel like it would synergize well. Transpose is a valid suggestion but I haven’t felt much need for the aegis ability yet and I’d rather have the extra power/relic draw honestly. Not enough 4-cost cards I’d want in the market besides manacles. Thanks again for the suggestions and if you have reasons you think I should make a change in spite of where my head went, please don’t hesitate to share!
S1O1 Eternal Version: 21.06.09
Thoughts on running Calibrate? It seems like it would be pretty good since it works on 2/3rds of your deck.
Vision Eternal Version: 21.06.09
You’ll notice I did end up including your suggestion, so thank you for it again 😊
Vision Eternal Version: 21.06.09
I considered this card. I found Display of Knowledge provided more options control wise. It’s a whole card slot and I didn’t see taking away from the control elements offered by DoK for it honestly. Thank you for your comment!
ShazamFTW Eternal Version: 21.06.09
Couple of nitpicky questions, love the deck overall.
A)Why not Shen-Ra speaks over Fall to Ruin? Triple Dark seems like a rough grab in this deck, double justice & time seems more likely, plus the silencing helps w/some sticky creatures. Plus, you can re-tool the mana base to focus less on Dark mana, given that no card will require more than 1.
B)With Mori, going from 4 to 6 power in a turn doesn't seem overly valuable, especially given that you'd have to skip turn 4. Instead, perhaps run Coveted Gemstone so turn 3 can jump into 5 (so, turn 4 Harsh rule for example) and then you gain access to a market where you could house a few random tricks? I understand it doesn't fuel the mana, but shaving off the Fall to Ruin could work?
C)With access to a market, perhaps shave off a Black Manacle or two and then play some recursion in the sideboard if they have enough tricks to deal with your targeted relics?

I also found that Wrath of Caiphus might be overall better than Seek Answers. Granted, it doesn't draw the extra non-power card, but in the mid/end game it can be a closer doing 7-21 damage fairly easily.
Vision Eternal Version: 21.06.09
I did say I’d ping you once changes were made- I’d love to hear your thoughts!
ShazamFTW Eternal Version: 21.06.09
I love most of it, the one thing that does puzzle me is the Glimpse Another Age. I'm guessing it's there for one of two reasons; either for graveyard hate, which Adjudicator's Gavel in the board might work better or you are concerned about decking yourself before you kill them, which I don't think will happen too often. This is the type of deck that if you live to turn 10, you are very likely going to win. As such, I want as many pieces in the deck to help me survive or ramp me to my big money spells.

Mask of Torment was already mentioned on here and jives well with the deck theme, and provides an alternate win condition.

Eremot's Designs could also be an option as I think the deck's biggest weakness is rush decks and having two extra wipes for them can't hurt.

But other than that, looks solid. I will say when I was originally running this, I never considered Auric Runehammer and that closes so many issues for the deck, I'm tempted to start piloting this again. As I've reached Masters in Expedition & Draft, Throne is the one I haven't picked off and this might be an avenue for that. I've grown bored of Sling anyway. :)
Vision Eternal Version: 21.06.09
Good call on the hard wipe actually! In the original version I was playing with more units and some other stealing void concepts so the caveat (if, then statement) in FtR was better, but I totally forgot to change it after altering the base deck. Your point about Wrath is also totally valid and I’ll try it later and if I keep it update the build! Honestly buddy every point you made was very valid, and I really appreciate it. Let me give it all a test tonight and I’ll reply again to let you know how it goes! Thank you very much for your feedback!
