Always open for feedback - newer to deck building in general and I'm willing to bet this deck needs a
lot of tweaking. For now I'm looking for a fun deck, and I've really enjoying the Strangers decks and wanted to give it a shot. The whole concept may have no legs - if that's the case I'd appreciate that feedback too!
General idea is making big weapons with
Rakano Artisan and
Strange Gladiator. If the weapons die, that's ok!
Strange Blacksmith will get them back. Get a ton of random battle skills with
Steely Stranger and
Tranquil Scholar and drop them on a
Hero of the People.
A lot of the decisions are based on what cards I have (of course) and suggestions for creation goals (more
Kodosh's Strangers?) are incredibly appreciated.
Update: Thank you to
Cillranchello for taking the time to make
MooseyJ's FTJ Well-Armed Strangers and explaining their reasoning - helped me out a lot.
Took out one of the
Nahid's Distillations to add another
Aamri's Choice since this deck relies on keeping the Steely Stranger up and often has better uses for 6 power than card draw when you are pulling weapons from the Void regularly.
I've also removed the 'Mostly for fun' from the title as with the changes based on Cillranchello's advice my climb through Gold has sped up - we'll see how that goes!
I didn't change the deck much, and tried to keep it roughly the same cost. More or less I trimmed some of the single or dual copies of cards that weren't getting you much value and added more copies of some core combo pieces.
There's one slight issue that needs addressing. If you want Steely Stranger to be your main engine of getting battle skills, then take out Nahid's distillation for more Aamri's Choices. Steely stranger needs to attack in order to get his effect, and the rest of your unit's Stat lines aren't enough to leave Steely on the board and just be a blocker/value engine. If you want to use Tranquil Scholar instead, cut the Kairos Choice for Edict of Grodov.
When possible, you want the burden of replaying cards on your opponent, and Edict of Grodov gives you an unconditional bounce that you can play before starting your turn or in response to attacks/blocks. In the market, I'd consider taking out Edict of Shavka for Rampage or Reinvigorate, depending if you want to lean more offensively or defensively.
