Alternative title: "
Barricade Basher is a fair and balanced card."
Started out the league with 3x Basher and 2x
Laser Blast, which gave me a very solid deck core. Basher is an excellent aggressive threat, and having three copies made Laser Blast into a premium piece of removal. Other highlights included 2x
Fatal Misstep,
Metalfang,
Reappropriator, and
Vine Grafter (which almost always grabbed
Hookblade Infuser out of the market.
Went 6-4 week 1 and 8-2 week 2, running a FTS build primarily to have enough cards to fill out the deck. Switched to pure Stonescar week 3 due to a lack of fixing, going 7-3.
Rust Grafter +
Flamepack Incinerator was the main pickup that week. Week 4, I got a
Bannerman and
Crest of Chaos (plus
Auric Captain), which filled the main hole in my deck: fixing. Both paid off and gave me a 9-1 finish in the final week, bringing my overall record to 30-10, and enough for #18 on the leaderboards (at time of writing).
Overall, I'd say I was pretty happy with the deck - it matched up pretty well with what I think makes a good sealed league deck: smooth curve, efficient threats, and strong removal. Valkyrie / weapon synergy from cards like
Oni Hybrid and
Silver Slicer was also nice, and the valkyries also allowed for a proactive gameplan that was difficult for most opponents to interact with.
