Rolant, Iron Tyrant has had a long and successful run in expedition, acting as the anchor to many an Argenport-adjacent control and midrange deck over the last two Expedition formats. In his younger days he was wilder, (
(Rank 6 Masters) Rolant's Threesome). But he's feeling his age, not quite as aggressive as he once was, and his retirement (from the format) looms.
Rolant
Know Thy Enemy is time, and he's grown more responsible, his wilder days now behind him. But the one thing that's stayed by his side is his partner
Diana, Faith's Shield. The two of them combined have made it through thick and thin. They're even become fixtures on the motivational
The Speaking Circle lately, passing on their sage advice to other cards. Above all else, they're seeking to

Alright, enough jokes, this is the midrange deck I've taken to Masters this month (a variant of it taking me to Masters last month as well). It's designed to get as much value out of
Know Thy Enemy as possible, without overloading on units and reducing the utility of the deck. The market is still a bit under construction, but
Svetya, Lightbringer,
Edict of Kodosh and at least one of the relic weapons are must-includes. (
EDIT: Dropped the
Massive Greatsword for a
Citywide Ban, which gives us a much better matchup against the
Overloader amplify one-turn kill deck, and non-Xenan Circle decks. This change has pushed me into top-5 Masters.)
Moonstone Vanguard took the deck over the top for me, my previous variant had
Massive Greatsword maindeck, but had trouble maintaining board pressure with just 16 units.
Moonstone Vanguard draws, defends, and helps fix your power early (a shockingly major reason for its inclusion, because without Petition this shell is less consistent at hitting its influence targets).
Pretty plus against Mandrakes if you play smart. Decent matchup against Elysian (but you really need
Suffocate or
Desert Alchemist in your opening hand). Can usually go over most other Circle decks, but as is always the case it sometimes comes down to who can get theirs down first. Lots of fun, hope you enjoy it.
Not sure about dropping Massive Greatsword - it has been good for me against other control decks. What matchup is the Hammer of Authority for? Also would love to drop Beseech the Throne, but worried about mana fixing - will keep experimenting.
