Hello, it's been some time since I last posted a deck. I'm still on a push to bring up Fire (my least used faction) up to par with my other factions, so I've been focusing on using Fire cards, but generally the gameplay hasn't been my style. So I needed a 2nd faction to pair it with.
I've been working on this deck for a while now, and I think it's finally in a place where I'm confident with it. I've beaten the Sudden Death boss and the Charge boss at least 3 times each with this deck. I did have some trouble with the 5 influence boss if the go
Champion of Chaos into
Champion of Wisdom into
Champion of Cunning, but I suspect that the AI just hates me.
As has been iterated many times before, the keys to victory in Gauntlet are consistency and a low curve. This deck has only 4 4 drops,
Sandstorm Titan, because it's just THAT good, and 4 5 drops,
Inferno Den, and the rest of it is just 1 to 3 drops.
The concept of this deck is, everything is either acceleration, or card advantage, except for 2
Kairos' Choice, which I find is more flexible than
Torch
Acceleration:
Full 8 1 drop ramp cards,
Initiate of the Sands and
Logistics Expert
Mix of 2 drop ramps, I find
Trail Maker is the one I like most, and
Powercell, which is pseudo ramp, and also lets you have an extra card to go to market with.
3 drop ramp,
Tocas, Waystone Harvester, and
Auralian Merchant
Card advantage:
Auralian Supplier,
Javan, the Steel Crest,
Inferno Den, and technically
Sandstorm Titan which usually needs 2 cards to trade for.
Finishers: (aka we hide all the expensive cards in the market to keep the curve low)
East Annex Smuggler,
Time Etchings,
Auralian Merchant can grab 2 different finisher combos.
Gnash, Desert Prince +
Grodov's Burden needs no introduction, a classic combo of Killer and Exalted
Talir, Who Sees Beyond +
Kairos, Grand Champion is actually constructed Throne playable.
I have one attachment removal spell in the market specifically for
Deepforged Plate, I have lost to that before, but you could decide otherwise.
You don't really need to think much, just get more power, and draw more cards, and you will eventually win.
Some other combos to note:
Javan, the Steel Crest with Charge, or with Killer buffs himself, and with
Inferno Den can pump out a lot of charging, reckless Elementals which get boosted.
Javan, the Steel Crest +
Praxis Blueprints can pump the charging quickdraw Mystics.
Bottoms Up on the Razortooths from
Gnash, Desert Prince can help you clear the way for an attack, without the Burden.
Please give your comments and suggestions, are 11 market cards enough? More removal or less removal? More ramp or less ramp? Hope to hear your thoughts.
