An incredibly greedy deck that ended up doing much better than expected.
P1P1 was
Xenan Lifespeaker, into P1P2 and P1P3
Shaluuk Captain and
Display of Instinct, intending to keep my options open. Throughout the first pack, Elysian was pretty open, letting me grab stuff like
Pteriax Hatchling, but I was also able to pick up a bit of fixing for both Fire and Shadow, making me unsure which colors I wanted to splash. Somehow got a last-pick
Seek Power, which is... not a thing that should ever happen. Also picked up
Recon Tower at some point, but I don't recall exactly when.
P2P1 was
Ila & Mizo, which went well with my commitment to Elysian. Grabbed an
Immortalize from an otherwise weak pack, which pushed me towards Shadow... until P4P1
Eclipse Dragon pushed me fully into four colors.
Overall, deck seriously exceeded my expectations - between the really high card quality, multiple bombs, and fantastic fixing, things functioned pretty smoothly. Didn't have a ton of card advantage or removal, but I had enough tricks to function. The one game I lost was due to power screw - had to spend my first ~5 turns activating
Recon Tower to try to hit power drops, and opponent had a
Vanquish when I tried to stabilize between Ila & Mizo. Alas.
MVP:
Recon Tower. Fixed all my influence requirements and provided a bit of incidental card advantage.
