Hi! I'm back with another grenadin deck, but this time it's B for budget. That means there are only commons and uncommons in the deck. Without further ado, here are my card explanations:
Bottoms Up allows us to go wide like
Rally and
Assembly Line together or tall with
Rusty Grenamotive. It is very versatile in that you can use it to kill a blocker but also add damage to the unblocked grenadin.
Flame Blast is a good finishing card. If the opponent has an aegis, you should try to get
Granite Coin off to pop the aegis.
Grenadin Drone is the number one card to play if you have it on turn one. This is because it stops
Oni Ronin and can't be killed completely by
Torch - only half of it.
Scrap Hound should be played lastly of all the three one cost units. This is because Hound is a removal magnet. It does contest
Sandstorm Titan if the ultimate is activated, thank goodness.
Ticking Grenadin has a tendency to be killed instantly or ignored. If killed through something like
Torch or
Vara's Favor, it's very good for us because
Into the Furnace will have double damage. If ignored, it can be
Scrap Hound fodder.
Torch can't target sites but it can hit units at fast speed.
Vara, Vengeance-Seeker is killed by this as long as you either have a unit to sacrifice,
Ankle Cutter, or both. Remember to torch
Unseen Commando before it attacks, if possible.
Ankle Cutter though it is a removal magnet, beats
Sandstorm Titan,
Whirling Duo,
Black-Sky Harbinger,
Rindra, the Duskblade,
Moonstone Vanguard,
Auric Sentry, and
Tavrod, Auric Broker. That is, as long as it stays.
Disassembler is also a removal magnet for it deals damage over time. I like to not attack with it or defend with it for this very reason. It ideally sits there, not silenced like my old friend darkness, waiting for
Harsh Rule or
Hailstorm to happen ideally with its fellow grenadin.
Grenarender is our only attachment removal. It gets rid of
Permafrost,
Avigraft (assuming it isn't the victim of that),
Xenan Obelisk,
Infinite Hourglass, and
Martyr's Chains. It is ideally used while
Disassembler is also on the field so that it pings the enemy for 1.
Into the Furnace is useful for getting rid of
Memory Dredger,
Copperhall Paladin,
Eclipse Dragon,
Lunar Magus, and
Tocas, Waystone Harvester. Though we do not run any sacrificing cards like
Burn Out,
Consuming Flames, or
Grenade, it is easy to get a grenadin
Into the Furnace by chumping with a
Ticking Grenadin or half a
Grenadin Drone.
Assembly Line and
Rally are two peas in a pod, the yin to the yang. The former allows you to go wide and the latter boosts going wide.
Rusty Grenamotive, with its berserk and ability, is best used with
Bottoms Up.
Combustion Brawler is usually shifted when I want to play it. This is because it only costs 4 to do so and can't be interacted with directly. Exhausting an enemy unit allows us to get at least one more damage in.
Granite Coin can be used to get rid of
Oni Ronin,
Hojan, Crownbreaker,
Pyroknight,
Initiate of the Sands, to name a few. This is also good for popping the opponent's aegis if they have one.
Granite Waystone fits the theme perfectly and is power.
Cards not put in:
Spark Hatcher is good after board wipes, but I rarely found myself thinking, "I need Hatch right now."
Mindfire and
Urn of Choking Embers are not good against
Infinite Hourglass. Thus, the only exhausting effect I have is through
Combustion Brawler because after three turns it will be unblockable so that the endurance units can't block this card.
Kaleb's Favor isn't really needed in here. The maximum power cost is 5 but you could survive on 4 power for using the ultimate of
Scrap Hound or shifting
Combustion Brawler.
