I find it really funny that Dead Reckoning introduced a card that makes Dragon Tribal feel super real, and it's not the card with 'Dragon Ally' printed on it.
Wardwielder is a turn 2 5/5 and if that's not a good earlygame wallout/midrange beater a deck that would run
Mistveil Drake always wanted, then I don't know what is. I'd run Eilyn's Favor if that wouldn't kinda clash real hard with the idea of using Cobalt Waystones at all. I fell in love with Sentinels because 'holy shit 7/7 for 4 and I can cheat it out on turn 3', and this is the same kind of rudeness that I love.
Skyward Seer is already good in a deck where she tutors 9/10 things you care about, and having her pull Mistveil to give yourself Aegis to re-beef your turn 2 blocker that got turned off is just the sort of thing that'd push her into must-play territory.
Jotun Feast-Caller, because he's just the right kind of sticky and annoying, and we're running exactly enough ways to tell your opponent to fuck off entirely that he might even get in while we're at it.
If you're unsure why
Hailstorm was the most impactful card in the adventure, then welcome to card games, we'll love to have you.
Rimescale Draconus is the prerequisite 'because I'm me' card of the deck. Absolutely can be slotted out for Pearlescent Drakes if you own them and miss having 5-drops.
Public Service Announcement: Please do not misinterpret the use case for
Oni Dragonsmith. Please don't trick yourself into living in the reality in which he can get you a turn 3
Crimson Firemaw. Your opponent
will have Vara's Favor or Desert Marshall. These are not 'maybe's, these are not 'might's, these are not 'if's. He exists because he makes it so when you get to turn 4, you can slam both himself as a 3/2 Quickdraw and a Firemaw onto the field at the same time. Then, once your opponent has forgotten he's on the board because the Firemaw looked like a bigger concern, attack in and spark off a turn 7
Molot & Nakova.
When you start thinking about Dragonsmith as a combo piece that turns all your dragons into Super Grenadin Drone Omega - True Hero Mode, his design makes a lot more sense. He gives you more board presence in one action than 'Dragon tribal' usually has the luxury of having. We have yet to have the pleasure of having real dragon-ramp sadly, but this is absolutely just fine. If you want turn 3 Firemaws, I strongly recommend Praxis. I know you want Maximum Dragons, but it's okay. They have giant angry robots, they're cool too.
i personally struggle to reliably find ways to trigger spark for skyward seer, very often being a total blank in my hand
struggling to ramp up to 6/7/8 sort of makes me want to swap them out for wisdom of the elders or something
facing titan is also an issue, but i doubt polymorph is a worthwhile inclusion these days
