This deck stands to be a favorite, and at times, I've exclusively used this to ladder with tremendous success. However, with decks that revolve around "mill", it's a superficial mistake to assume that the main win condition of the deck is to mill your opponent's deck. In this case, it's not (and it's not remotely possible in normal circumstances that you should be able to do).
The point of this deck is to effectively mill as many opposing units to the grave as possible, especially in mid-to-late games when the number of cards in the hand are brought to a minimum. In those cases, the deck functions to outlast the opponent and maintain a reliable board presence to secure victory.
The MVP is notably
Fallen Oni. And in fact, typically when you don't have Fallen Oni in your opening hand, the more turns have passed, chances are you'll be facing an uphill battle against strong mid-range contenders and aggro decks. To go into opening plays, the ideal opening sequence is to play Turn 1:
Fallen Oni, Turn 2
Devour, and then Turn 3
Shadowlands Guide.
Memory Dredger is meant to revive Oni.
Crownwatch Press-Gang can pick up extra Oni's. Enforcer and Steward are used to silence units.
Inquisitor Makto and
Vara, Fate-Touched are your late-game win conditions. Primarily, Vara is utilized to revive Shadowlands Guide and Oni to continually mill the opposing deck of answers. Rinse and repeat.
Harsh, Slay, and Annihilate are your removal options. Sabotage and Azindel's disturbs the opposing hand (although Azindel's could be subbed out if you like). Cat Burglar is a tech.
