This was my deck for ETS 2018 S4W2. It was my first tournament, and I went 3-4, so I think it's probably decent!
Vadius, Clan Father is too expensive for me, so I've replaced him with
Cinder Yeti x2 and
Thunderbird x2. Why 2x of each and not 4x of one? I'm indecisive, first of all, but second of all, the Cinder Yeti is good to have a few of to help push damage early (the Warp is nice, too), but is definitely not a 4-of. Thunderbird has evasion, and survives removal like Vadius, helping us survive those
Hailstorms and
Harsh Rules; with that said, a 2/2 with no immediate impact to the board at 3 feels pretty slow for this deck, so again, felt wrong as a 4-of.
Probably a little bit notable, I went with a
Shugo Standard in the market instead of a more standard
Crest of Fury. Why? Don't have the Crest! But I actually found I liked that Shugo Standard in there, anyway. I never needed a Primal influence by the time I was visiting the market, where the Standard was power when I needed it to be, and a potentially lethal combat trick when I needed it to be that instead. I would recommend keeping it there even if you have the Crest, personally. The Scoutland is good for top deck mode, but I think the Trickland helps you avoid or get out of top deck mode to begin with, personally. I've also seen some people put
Skycrag Banner in the market, but I think that's a
terrible idea; just craft the Crest if you really want the double influence.
Anyway, I definitely felt the lack of Vadius a few times. Can't say the
Cinder Yeti didn't win me some games, but I think a big hard-to-remove attacker like Vadius would have helped more overall. So probably go with Vadius list if Shiftstones are no concern to you.
Update: If you wanna try out a couple Vadius but don't have the Shiftstone or confidence to craft four Legendaries, well hey, so did I! Check out:
