Information

So I've been trying to build a fun janky deck abusing Inquisitor Makto for a while now ever since I started playing Eternal about a year ago. I quickly found out about the old meta deck with him and Elysian Pathfinder, so I focused my deck around those two. Since I've never been a big fan of competitive play I've primarily played Gauntlet to enjoy Eternal, only eveer playing any form of PvP for quests. However, I'm wanting to improve on my current Makto deck, and would greatly appreciate any feedback about how I could improve it!

EDIT 1: I've updated the decklist to inlcude the changes I've made recently to the deck. I took out the {card]Time Etchings[/card] and Kerendon Cargo to include a playset of Seek Power and another copy of Justice Etchings, as I felt that when Kerendon Transmuted, I would usually never use it outside of putting it into the Market, and sometimes I wanted to use it to pick up another power card.

As for the other changes, I took out the Spiritweavers in the deck, as I was informed that they rarely had a viable target for their lifesteal buff, and I rarely used them for their plunder ability. Instead, I have now included three copies of Stand Together because it allows me to more easily protect Makto from tranform and silence effects that the AI seems to love throwing his way. One other change I did was I took out Lumen Reclaimer and put in From Beyond{/card]. Now I don't think I will ever play it in it's base form, but once the card transmutes, it serves a better role in the deck than reclaimer ever did, plus I am more likely to play it during a game.

Edit 2: So thought I would try the deck out by removing Piercing Grief and adding in Makto, Valorpus Savior, a strange decision some might say, but after also tweaking the amount of other cards in the deck to also include a playset of Bartholo's Keepsake, the deck seems to work much better that it has before! I'm currently debating on adding Spire Shadows into the Market instead of one of the cards I do have in there, but having added Shen-Ra Speaks into it, having a "on call" board clear has also helped a lot!

Edit 3: (MAJOR UPDATE) A lot of changes since the last version due to the new expansion and me forgetting to update this list, so honestly cannot remember the reasoning for most of the changes...

A really good deck. A really good deck althrough there's a little flaw. Enough card-drawing, enough units-playing and good life-stealing are three preferential stratergies of winning gauntlet AI bosses. I may speak more of the promotion for this deck But I treat the "critique" as my praise.
1 For the influence. More cards in Dark and Justice, the time power cards may be switched with more dark-justice Crest of Vengeance and Argenport Cylix.
2 For the power card. The deck has too many seeking-power cards to find units. These cards may be switched with substitutes in the next points.
3 For killing the enemy. Pristine Light is less useful than End of the Story if there's aegis, but it can have unexpected effects on your Inquisitor Makto and Makto, Valorous Savior with ECHO. You will then find Makto is a serious card this time.
4 For reducing the cost. Inspiring by The Speaking Circle, Spire Shadows may be a good choice to reduce the unit cost especially the Elysian Pathfinder.
5 (Unimportant) Unseen Execution may help when keeping makto under AOE spells sometimes.

I actually need to update this decklist with what I've been using since the latest expansion, but thank you for the tips! Honestly, if I update the decklist now with my current version, I certainly wouldn't mind your feedback on it in a bit! :D (EDIT: Updated the decklist now)

Sadly, the deck died once Pathfinder was nerfed into oblivion and there's no signs of it returning to it's former glory... The best way around it that I've seen is using Crown of Possibilities and hoping he gets echo off one of your draws. This takes you to 4 faction, but that's not so bad now with all the power fixing that's been put out there. Might be worth a shot. Makto is still a fantastic card and is used in a multitude of decks, if you're wanting to get competitive with it, check them out. I'm sure there is something out there to scratch the itch.

i wonder how good this deck was against most AI bosses. Speaking about the deck, if you want all-in on makto+pathfinder you can always jsut add them to the market and add more merchants. I bet you can go as far as 16 market access if you have enough early game protection against most AI decks
Edit: and if you really want to have fun with Makto, try something like this 4 Color Reanimator
