This deck was inspired by ideas from a few others, most notably
Prismatic Map [Rank 7 Masters] and
Welcome to Argenport V.2.
Three colours is not generally advisable for grinding gauntlet due to reliability issues. I also probably wouldn't advise most beginning players to craft this deck, as I haven't spent enough time optimizing it. However there are some areas where this deck shines:
-Most of the cards are relevant to the current Expedition and actually do see play in top tier decks.
-It is relatively cheap, with many of the cards being rares and only uses a single legendary.
-It is mostly straightforward to play.
-While not every match is fun, it can lead to some very satisfying interactions, especially if you enjoy dunking on the AI.
So, it could still beneficial to some, especially if they are trying to build out their collection and already want these cards (or already have them).
The game plan will vary depending on the matchup, but here are a few quick notes and tips:
As with other
Rift's Edge decks, generally, the longer the game drags on, the more likely it is that you will win.
Since most of the units in the deck are fliers, which the AI is often weak to, you can often win with these alone, before you even get the chance to play
Rift's Edge.
Hermitspawn functions as the 3rd potential win condition.
Deadly units help to stall, until we can attack face reliably (either with buffed units from
Rift's Edge, or fliers).
Ample lifesteal can help you to stabilize quickly.
The deck can function pretty well at 2-3 power, provided you can get all the influences you need.
Corrupted Croaker can be useful if the AI amasses many small units, especially if you want to keep your existing board. There's probably some optimization to be had with all of the board wipes however, as I find I almost never use
Malediction.
Update:
Since this was more popular than I expected, I've updated the deck to my most recent list. Some notes on that:
Replaced
Feed the Hecaton with
Scorpion Wasp. While
Feed the Hecaton has literally won me games I had no business winning, sometimes it can also sit around in hand while I hopeless watch myself die.
Scorpion Wasp largely achieves a similar result (it can help efficiently kill chunky aegis units) while also doubling as a deadly flier that can be buffed by
Veena's Masterpiece and/or
Rift's Edge.
Also I've added
Sabotage to the Market, as I seem to die fairly reliably to
Patrice's Triumph and I feel it can also be helpful in protecting the
Corrupted Croaker from being removed
