I love the "spells matter" archetype, and some great cards were just unleashed to support it!
Gameplan is to ignore as much of the board as you can and burn the opponent's face with spells, sometimes playing
Eilyn, Hand of the Tempest because she's fun and wins games with her Ultimate.
Deck details:
Always calculate how much spell damage you have over this and next turn. You can often deal surprisingly lethal damage with all your snowballs, especially with a
Rocket Sled or two down. This deck doesn't win on the board after the early turns, so play to your wincon and don't waste all your damage on units. A face-damaging spell or extra
Eilyn, Hand of the Tempest or
Tomb of the Azuremage are almost always the best picks from
Frostburn's Invoke.
Don't forget that you can turn
Jeering Yeti's
Power Burst tokens and the unleashed copy of
The Krinkle Boys into snowballs. You can also discard the unleashed copy of The Krinkle Boys when cycling with
Tomb of the Azuremage.
Tech options:
1. I have 4x
Display of Passion in currently, and I use the face-damage option in 80% of games, and the Katana option if I need to cycle for an out. If you're seeing lots of bigger endurance or lifesteal units (e.g. Curiox or Vara), I'd consider swapping this for
Ankle Cutter. Also been experimenting with
Homesick Yeti in this slot, which is not necessarily best but sure is fun. Either swap would also get you out of having to find 3 red and 4 blue influence.
2. I think 4x
Serpent Hive is probably much better than
Uncrossable Ravine, because both of Hive's options align more with the gameplan, and it fixes the 4 blue needed to play Eilyn. I just wanted to play Ravine since it's a new, fun card. Go for Serpent Hive if you want to tryhard.
9W/4L so far, three of those losses due to my own missing lethal.
