This is the
The Witching Hour deck I have been playing in Expedition Masters this month.
And while casting
The Witching Hour is one of the win conditions of the deck, it only happens in about 10% of games. Other win conditions are
Raniya, Miviox Maniac,
Syl's Stronghold, and to a lesser extent
Gift of the Auric Bank.
The deck is full of cards that generate multiple cards when you play them, to help get
The Witching Hour down to a reasonable cost. But at the same time, those cards are solid on there own and with each other. The taunt from collection rounds helps to kill things like
Plunk Wumpkin and
Rickety Ramcart, and the taunt can be used in combination with
Vara's Favor or
Rocky Ride to kill larger things.
Engraver and
Rocky Ride can help you ramp into
Raniya, Miviox Maniac and
Syl's Stronghold, and sometmies the totemites are just bodies to throw in front of a 9/10
Furious Magniventris.
You only ever need a single fire influence, but 6 shadow influence. You want to avoid getting fire from
Xultan Conclave unless absolutely necessary.
The deck has a solid win rate for me in Masters, around 75%. You can easily aggro out some other decks with early
Collection Rounds and
Grenadin Rescue, but usually we have to wait for a
Syl's Stronghold or
Raniya, Miviox Maniac to finsih things off.
