Poacher's Menagerie. Alright, the card is pretty good overall. Even better in Expedition where there isn't much to stop it. However, my argument here is that the card is absolutely positively insanely obviously broken beyond reason, in Draft and in the month long league format.

In both formats, you have mostly Unleashed set cards. And a few Cold Hunt set cards. Assuming you didn't get some great attachment removal from the latter set, let's take a look at Unleashed removal for Poacher's Menagerie.

The thing about the card, is it's absolutely broken. You play it and creatures just spawn every turn getting bigger until you oberpower your opponent and win. Of course you lose the creatures when Menagerie dies, but many have revenge, unleash or other benefits that are so good that losing them was still worth the investment of playing the relic.

Face it, if you don't deal with this card right away or win ASAP - you lose.

I'm looking at cards here that deal with the relic once it's played. Cards like Egg Snatch are absolute garbage anyway. And you'd lose game just because of wasting 2 power on a card that can do absolutely nothing. Especially when drawn late game.

Cleave
About the only card that works in the format for menagerie. Works great for it too. And only costs 2. But is dead if they don't have attachments.

Barbarian Guerillas
Good for attachments, and can second as a unit. If they play Menagerie after you play Guerillas, game over.

Halotipped SprayRare
Good idea, but face it, at 3 red in limited, you're going to inscribe this early or you're going to be waiting turn after turn to get the third red or 6 power while menagerie creatures kill you. Kills relics but NOT attachments. At 6, it's not even fast.


Hot Hand
This card is straight up GARBAGE.

Decay
A reprint. Kills an attachment. Alternite side is gain 3 life for paying 3? No thanks.

Display of RealitiesRare
The card costs 3 time influence! In a format with virtually no dual power cards. Great the card has options but the second you choose a non-relic removal and they play Menagerie - you're dead.


Resonance WaveRare
Good idea. Bad execution. I made the mistake of using it on relic weapons thinking it would kill them. No, it doesn't. It costs for and 2 Justice are needed. God forbid you inscribe it then see a menagerie.


Display of SurvivalRare
Same as the Time Display but for 3 Primal. But this one will give your opponent a 1/4 dino if you target their Menagerie! LAME!

Display of WillRare
Your opponent can just sacrifice some other relic instead of Menagerie. Also 3 shadow influence. LAME!


DisruptUncommon & colorless!
This card works. But it costs 3, and paying 3 to silence a unit as an alternative isn't the best. But it's something.

Forged Deed Card is bad at it's job by costing 4. Usually you won't enjoy the benefits for that 1 turn. No alternative. And it's rare.

So only 11 cards in the unleashed set that handle Menagerie. And only 3-4 of them do it well: Cleave, Guerillas, Disrupt, and maybe Decay. But if Poachers Menagerie wasn't in the format, you'd probably only play the Barbarian Guerillas out of those 4. 6 of those 11 are rare so less chance to draw them.

So basically only fire can deal with attachments somewhat effectively.

And keep in mind that most of these cards are dead garbage in your hand if your opponents simply rush out a bunch of creatures.

What's worse is there isn't a market in the current Expedition.

Some of the Cold Hunt cards also work, but they are extremely specific. Maybe they'll work for Menagerie, but not for most other attachments. Like Waystone Ignitor. Oh, and he's legendary for some reason. Good luck getting one of those in sealed format.

Bullseye? Straight up nerfed. Only works on relic weapons now.

Cards like Vikrum's Bomb were added. But you have to play FTS to use it. And it's a promo so can't get it in draft or sealed.

Face it, the card Poacher's Menagerie has broken the format. In my opinion, the card designers are high AF for thinking that card should fit in the Expedition draft and month long formats. And even higher for nerfing the relic removal like Bullseye that dealt with the card, having no market, and making relic removal either 100% necessary or 0% necessary.

Also, I'm really salty because I got no Poacher's Menagerie in my month long leagie so far. And only Halotipped Spray to deal with it.

In one game I inscribed for the red - then died to Menagerie.

In another game opponent only had blie and green. I used Direwood Hymnand put the spray on the bottom, because I didn't see green and spray is garbage. But he dropped justice and a menagerie. 7 turns into surviving the menagerie onslaught with everything my garbage deck could muster, I drew the my second Direwood Hymn! Searched for the spray o bottomed. Used it! Still lodt to Menagerie creatured that had unleash or buffed the other creatures or some other BS. Couldn't even use the spray as a combat trick because it's not fast. And yes, I'm playong a deck that uses 2 Direwood Hymn and 1 Halotipped Spray. My card packs were that all over the place.

But seriously, I've lost about half my games so far to Poacher's Menagerie. So sick of it. It has broken the game so badly 😑
