It's been six months now since our last fresh set. Supplies and inspiration are running low. I am the last of my band. I watched the others drift off as their spirits sagged and their resolve evaporated in this bug-infested desert. I hope their souls are not lost for good, but if they have stumbled into Azeroth, I fear the worst.
I saw what looked like a supply depot last week, but when I shambled to it, there was nothing and no one there, save a dispirited looking
Vara, Vengeance-Seeker and
Azindel, Revealed playing rummy stone-eyed, and emotionless, wagering grains of sand. So deep was their lassitude, they didn't bother to kill me.
As I traveled on, I had to reckon: Were they right? Why am I still competing? But then I saw the most peculiar sight as I neared Combrei territory. A strange fellowship of bugs and totems and sentient races of several sorts appeared to be... dancing? frolicking? fighting? It was hard to tell. But their dances were most peculiar indeed. The Tota flew! The humbugs fought with Valor the like of which I had never seen. A Tinker wielded a blade with Deadly poison. And a priest of Marisen frolicked among them all robed in a gleaming Aegis.
This was surreal, it was preposterous, it was outrageous. Surely amid the dangers of this land, none of them could hope such erratic behavior would help them survive. Their allies were weak, their planning haphazard, and yet... It was strangely compelling. It was beautiful. It was transformative.
My mind shook and when it steadied itself again, I realized: In this wasteland, tryharding is boring and repetitive. That is not why we keep going. That is not why I keep going.
The memes. I do it for the memes.

This is the first of a what I imagine will become a few decks I publish between now and the release of the Battle Lines. If you see For the Memes in the title, the deck is not for climbing. The deck is made to use weird cards and do funny things. Suit yourself. Or not. Have fun out there!
