World of Ambush (Bonus Tomes and Crowns!)

[disclaimer] This is a fun deck not intended for competitive gameplay. Please note that I am also posting it before any optimization or further testing, that is why is still a Work in Progress.

Somehow i am running this deck around masters 600 and got a 8-0 win streak. It will probably get destroyed at the start of the monthly Chapter or if you are in Diamond, but at this time of the current Chapter and at my rank, it seems to be working. So here it is in case anyone want to give it a go.

As usual with most of my decks, the focus is on random, luck and fun. If that is not what you are looking for then this is probably not the deck for you.

This deck features 25 units and all of them have Ambush. The main reason I created this deck are the recently added Ambush units Gentle Grazer and Stormtamer's Mount.

Gentle Grazer is really a weak 4 drop but you get to block and kill small units and at the same time get the free 2-or less random card which is this card main appeal. Another advantage is that the corruption will allow a free block in the next round. The disadvantages are mainly two, the corruption cost of 6 for this card is very expensive, it rarely pays off so I will not use it unless I have no other option. The second disadvantage is that it it does also trigger 1 and zero cost cards so it may end triggering your Seek Power. I believe this card should have been released in such a way that it will only free play 2 costs, that would have been much better.

Stormtamer's Mount has been extremely useful in Expedition format but is rarely used in Throne. The main idea behind using this unit in this deck is that it plays with the opponent Tempo in a good way. You are either getting two blocks from this card or, alternatively one block and the opponent wasting a removal on a 1-1 unit.

As for other Ambush cards in this deck, Shadowlands Feaster plays very well obviously but because of its cost I am I am running only two. Xumucan, the Surveyor is also useful but also very problematic in a 3F deck, but for now I am keeping him.

Saber-Tooth Prideleader is an absolute must in the current meta, and it has been seeing plenty of play in any Time deck recently, so obviously it fits this deck very well. Ayan, the Abductor and Ebon Dune Smuggler complete the group.

The spells in this deck are pretty much self-explanatory. Note that I am playing Vara's Choice in the main deck instead of Equivocate to avoid a situation where you waste a Gentle Grazer two cost

And then we have Tome of Horrors and Crown of Possibilities. I know many probably ignored my deck as soon as they saw this in the deck name, specially the Crown which I admit is my weakness. But Tome actually work wonders with Ambush as you can potentially get each unit to cause the enemy to discard cards twice. 3 of my 8 wins where due to the opponent getting out of cards. If you want change Crown for something else but I advise you to keep Tome.

Xenan Temple will probably not make the final cut. I did play it a couple of times and it did work once. Right now I plan to remove it and try other cards, like Damara, Deft Saboteur. Anyway in this post I am keeping exactly what I used in those 8 games.
